Singapore - a small city and country that pack a big punch!

Singapore is a very young country/city, only 275 square miles, that has a lot of diverse offerings. Given its immense wealth, it is rapidly growing and changing, always veering towards the futuristic. We were only here for three short days, but below are some opportunities we recommend.

En Sushi - extensive menu with extremely fresh sushi, hand-roll, salad, and saki options. We had an amazing meal here.

Gardens By The Bay - so many things to see here - Super Tree, Flower Dome, Cloud Forest, and more. Two times every night there is a free light and music show of the Super Trees that lasts about 15 mins. Get there super early if you want a seat, about 45 mins early if you want a standing, unobstructed view (not that we can promise that).

Ce La Vi - a restaurant and bar on top of the Marina Bay Sands Hotel. If you are looking to experience the view, you can walk up and buy a $30 ticket. This can be used for drinks or food during your time on the rooftop. The view is ok - a lot of it is obstructed by a glass partition, however, the cool evening breeze makes it worthwhile.

GuruWalk - we did a free historical walk of the city one afternoon and cannot recommend it enough. You learn so much about the city, what it has gone through, and where it hopes to go. It is invaluable to learn about a place from a lifelong local. You will even get a video of the experience afterward.

A couple of bars that you must visit:

Analogue - focused on the future and sustainability. Incredible and unique cocktails in a beautiful setting.

Atlas Bar - classic cocktails served in an art deco building lobby bar - completely fake but you would never guess. Every detail is perfect. There is a dress code so do not wear your sandals or shorts to this stunning drinking hole.

We wish that we had another day or two to spend in this magical place. You probably do not need more than five days total, but it is so worth it even tho it is more expensive.
